Rainbow Baby Shower #5

On 3rd of February we had our fifth rainbow baby shower. Our showers allow us to celebrate with mothers who had lost a baby but have been blessed with a rainbow baby. Still A Mum is also able to facilitate sessions in the rainbow baby shower during which the mothers interact with a gynecologist and a doula and get the information they need about pregnancy, labour, childbirth, and how to take care of themselves and the baby after birth. This helps to make the experience a little easier for them as many mothers have fears about pregnancy and childbirth after they have already suffered loss.

The shower was held at Ridgeways and was attended by 7 moms. Snacks were provided and the moms got to know each other and share their experiences of loss and the beauty of seeing a rainbow after the storm. Dr. Jane Wakahe was there to talk to the mothers about any medical concerns they had about labour and childbirth and Ciru Ciera of Nurturing Moms was also present as our in-house doula. Gathoni and Ben Kiruthi were gracious enough to handle the photography for the day and gave each mom their baby bump photo shoot! Each mom also received a gift hamper from All Tyme and Bouncy.

We are already looking forward to the next rainbow baby shower!
